| LASC offers Rifle Shooting at it's Handgun
Silhouette Matches for only one reason.
Because it's fun.
A lot of our shooters also have rifles and
enjoy the chance to use them. Rifle's are permitted at LASC during
matches only.
This rifle match is NOT
NRA or
IHMSA
sanctioned and is an open class "fun shoot" only, often
referred to as
"Cast Bullet Rifle".
The rifle matches run concurrent
with the Long Range and Smallbore matches and are fired on the same targets
at the same distances, 50 - 100 - 150 - 200 meters for Long Range. There are four categories
of cowboy rifle at LASC: OPEN SIGHTS, SCOPE SIGHT, HALF SIZE and VINTAGE RIFLE.
Only
cast bullets,
or
straight
wall pistol cartridges, or jacketed bullets at or under 1,950 feet per
second velocity are
permitted at Long
Range events. These are handgun targets and most rifle's could
destroy them. Target damage is not permitted
This Smallbore Rifle Match is
NOT
NRA or IHMSA sanctioned
and is an open class
"fun shoot" only, informally referred to
as
"Cowboy Smallbore Rifle".
Smallbore Rifles at the Smallbore
matches may use 22 LR rim fire caliber only. 22 Magnums are not permitted. The Smallbore Rifle Match
uses the same course of fire as the Smallbore Handgun Silhouette Match,
i.e., 40 - 50 - 75 - 100 meters. There are Three Categories of Smallbore Rifle
at LASC: OPEN SITE, SCOPE SITE and the regular 1/5 SIZE Smallbore Rifle targets.
Use this
link or the above back button to see the
section on "Coarse of Fire" for both Long Range and Smallbore Rifle. The
same format is used for both Cast Bullet Rifle & Smallbore Rifle categories
and for the handgun categories. |
